She was a musician, artist, designer and singer who broke down barriers in the industry. She was Mexican-American, but she was also a traditional. She was the first to bring Tejano to mainstream culture. In the same way that many people mourn a star who passed away too young, her death was not a good time and ended an energizing career. The result is that fans are enthused over time to dig and work harder to ensure that her achievements will not be forgotten. Selena's shooting death sparked emotions in the Latino society that could be similar in a way to Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Selena's music, a singer who was hugely popular across Latino communities across North America touched people young as well as old. Selena has been called by some as the Latina Madonna, but she's still a fantastic example to follow. Selena's off-stage family values and her participation with AIDS awareness efforts are exemplary.
